The Flemington People’s Pantry

The Flemington People’s Pantry exists to redeem waste, share food, create good work, dispel loneliness, reconnect neighbours, celebrate faith and difference and subvert the status quo!

About Us

The Flemington People’s Pantry was started as a response to a study of food insecurity in the City of Moonee Valley conducted by Deakin University in 2009.

A diverse group of local volunteers experiencing un/under-employment order, collect and redistribute 1.5 tonnes of food to approximately 120 households each Tuesday and Wednesday (February-Christmas).

We partner with other agencies to provide volunteer work for asylum seekers, people with intellectual disability, those experiencing mental illness and/ or un/der-employment.

We operate as a multi-faith, multi-cultural program that seeks to build community connections by initiating and supporting various local food initiatives.

To register or find out more

Please attend 12 Brighton Street Flemington between 1:30 - 3:00pm on Wednesdays.

You can also ring or text our team on 0466 976 804 to enquire about home delivery options.
