The Flemington People’s Pantry exists to redeem waste, share food, create good work, dispel loneliness, reconnect neighbours, celebrate faith and difference and subvert the status quo!
We are a registered, tax deductible, ACNC charity (Essendon Baptist Community Ministries) which works in partnership with Foodbank Victoria and Second Bite
The Flemington People’s Pantry was started as a response to a study of food insecurity in the City of Moonee Valley conducted by Deakin University in 2009.
We are a registered, tax deductible, ACNC charity (Essendon Baptist Community Ministries) which works in partnership with Foodbank Victoria and Second Bite.
A diverse group of local volunteers experiencing un/under-employment order, collect and redistribute 1.5 tonnes of food to approximately 120 households each Tuesday and Wednesday (February-Christmas).
We partner with other agencies to provide volunteer work for asylum seekers, people with intellectual disability, those experiencing mental illness and/ or un/der-employment.
We exist to redeem waste, share food, create good work, dispel loneliness, reconnect neighbours, celebrate faith and difference and subvert the status quo!
We operate as a multi-faith, multi-cultural program that seeks to build community connections by initiating and supporting various local food initiatives.
